Sinasos Evleri is located in Mustafapaşa, known as Sinasos in Ottoman times, in the heart of Cappadocia.
The village has been referred to as an "oasis in the desert, an island in the ocean, a star in the darkness, and Athens in Asia Minor" by the Greeks, and as "Little Istanbul" by the Turks.
You will encounter churches, mosques, madrasas, historical mansions and areas of natural beauty at every turn, many of which are open to visitors. These are living witnesses of different cultures who existed together in peace and harmony for several centuries.
Mustafapaşa was named "The Best Tourism Village" by the World Tourism Organization in December 2021. This global initiative aims to highlight villages in which tourism preserves cultures and traditions, diversity is celebrated, opportunities are provided for the locals and biodiversity is protected.
The main structure of Sinasos Evleri is a 19th century mansion, one of the most elegant buildings in the prestigious Lulas Quarter in the oldest part of Mustafapaşa.
The building is popularly known as the White Mansion. This well-preserved historic mansion went through a careful and detailed restoration process which transformed it into Sinasos Evleri.
The rooms have been named with reference to their former functions. The Cellar Room is where grapes were pressed and wines, cheeses and pickles were stored. The Grapevine Room is a semi-open space with a pergola that is used mainly in the summer. The Main Room was used primarily for hosting guests, just as it is today. The Tandoor Room is a typical winter kitchen, containing a widemouthed tandoor oven. The mansion contains two large reception spaces for summer use and a living area.
Oyster, cypress, passion flower and sun motifs can be seen on the facade and in almost all the rooms, symbolizing health, prosperity and long life. The rugs decorating the rooms are 60 to 100 years old pieces that have been collected throughout the region.
We invite you to experience 19th century mansion life with modern-day comforts.
